Zigtal x EY Spotmentor

A one stop solution for workforce to learn.

Overview

The Zigtal is a talent mobility platform to improve the employee experience, efficiency and productivity using features like opportunity marketplace, mentoring, expert access, leaders lounge, gamification and analytics.

The aim of this project was to integrate the "Expert Connect" Business unit of Zigtal with EY’s talent mobility tool Spotmentor.

Client

The Problem

Integrating two distinct products is difficult. Challenges are on both the ends due to different architecture which includes disruption of user experience.

Without a system, it is impossible to assign and make users manage as well as execute their tasks efficiently.

User Research

A week’s brainstorming session was conducted with the stakeholders: Zigtal CTO, EY Spotmentor Product Head. There were few discussions with Zigtal's existing clients using platform's v1.

My research encompassed:
 

  • Understanding the Spotmentor’s vision and its vastness
     

  • Understanding Zigtal’s mission with the integration
     

  • Roles and responsblities of different set of users
     

  • Essential data points to be captured

User Roles & Interviews

User research was essential. The nature of both the products led to complex workflows and their interactions with one another needed to be laid out in detail. In order to to achieve this goal, I gathered some data about the end user to understand what their workflow could be.

Insights

After conducting few more meetings and contextual inquiries, I was able to categorize the insights into following categories:

User Profiles

The research made it evident how different users would use the app differently. To cater to specifically for EY Spotmentor Users, I categorized them into two profiles

1.   Learner

The first user from EY Spotmentor who is willing to find an expert in his skill. Tasks on Zigtal:

​

  • One stop to find the right expert.

​

  • Communicate with the expert

​

  • Start an Engagement

​

  • Capture meeting minutes

2.   Expert

​

The second user from EY Spotmentor Database  who will be registered on Zigtal. Tasks on Zigtal:

  • Gets to know about requests from learners.

​

  • Communicate with the learner

​

  • Capture meeting minutes

​

  • Start an Engagement

​

  • Record Feedback of the Engagement 

Conceptulization

I started on analyzing the current screens of Zigtal and created a pen & paper architecture which would be helpful in determining the journey of the redirection of the user of EY to Zigtal.

The Solution - Learner Aspect of Project

EY Spotmentor makes it easy for their users to upskill using their assessments and user specific tests. Zigtal’s Integration will help those users to learn from the industry & experts within their organisation.

Learnings.. 

We as Designers often tend to think out of the box designs but we should also always question why? The primary goal is nothing but to understand user and come up with design which solves the problem.

1.  Kreative ❌    Creative ✅

Overcooking of ideas leads to huge time and unappreciated cash flow. Creating a strategic plan to launch the MVP brings more productivity.
